🌼 Welcome Back to Fab World Studio – June Adventures & Dandelion Shenanigans! 🌼
Well hello there, friend!
It’s been a couple of weeks since our last proper sit-down, and mercy me, we’ve been busy! There’s been app development, animation prompt tinkering, and even some financial soul-searching (because a girl’s gotta plan, even if she’s living in a whimsical world of talking sunflowers and clockwork dreams). Let me catch you up!
📌 Project 1: The Sticky Note Renaissance
It all started with sticky notes. And not just the digital kind that float in the void of your screen until forgotten—we made a proper Sticky Notes App for FabCorkboard! We used Visual Studio and C# and oh, did this project make my brain hurt! But even baby-steps coding is refreshing because code is so wonderfully litteral. Any time I want a reminder that what I am saying isn't always what I think that I am saying, I write a bit of code. Because the code will do exactly what I tell it to do. (laughing)
By May 29, we’d added:
-
🌈 Color-coded notes
-
💾 Save-to-disk support
-
🗑️ Right-click delete (poof!)
If it sounds like magic, well... it kind of is.
🎶 Project 2: “Dandelion Bop” – A Story Song Sprouts!
On June 2, Loorie (my resident torch-song-singing sunflower) wiggled her petals and declared, "It’s time to BOP!" So we got to writing a jazz-fueled story song about a rather dandelion-ish morning in the front yard.
Spoiler: It ends with dandelion wine. As it should.
🎥 Project 3: OBS Bug Zapping and Keystroke Overlays
By June 3, I was elbow-deep in OBS plugins and visual overlays. We hunted bugs, wrestled with DLL errors, and found our way to a working keystroke visualizer.
Not glamorous, but wildly satisfying.
As an experiment, I did some 5AM live streams while I sculpted a new character Lumen the Star. I created with the help of Suno music for the background. It was fun. I may do more live streams while I sculpt. I am not good at talking while I work, so as I mentioned above, I enabled keystrokes for future live streams. The lives will be at 5 AM because, why not? Well, there are a thousand reasons why not, but I am up and working at that time so that is when I will be working.
💌 Project 4: Cards & Branding
The June 6–7 weekend brought some real world whimsy:
-
🃏 Revisiting my handmade pop-up card dreams
-
💡 Renaming everything to Fab World Studio (because of course!)
🚪 Project 5: Fab’s Front Door & Her Friendly Wave
On June 8, we returned to animation with updates to the porch door scene. I added a whimsical porch light (yes, it glows!) and a cheerful wave prompt for Hedra to bring Fab to life with a tip-top wave.
🍃 Project 7: Blender Grass (Because Someone Has to Mow)
June 13 was for the Blender-heads out there—we tackled Geometry Nodes to scatter grass across the land. There were render issues, viewport victories, and a template to build from. The lawn, in short, is lush.
Well darlings, that brings us up to date! I’ve got sticky notes all over my monitor, a sunflower who won’t stop scatting bebop riffs, and a porch light that might be smarter than me.
Fab says:
“Here’s to summer mornings, curious questions, and projects that grow like dandelions—wild, bright, and sometimes in the wrong spot.”
Loorie chimes in from the windowsill:
🎶 “Dandelions bop and pop and plop, they never ever stop! But oh honey—don’t you worry—Fab turned that chaos into wine!” 🎶
Stick around, sugarplum. There’s more to come.
And always, always, please, have a lovely day!
