White Trash Salad

It is a know fact that no matter how perfect your beehive, no matter how spotless your white gloves, no matter how confident you are in yourself and your choices, there are those that will, perhaps, disagree. I, personally, celebrate the arrival of Spring (and any other festive occasion) with a salad made of fruit and whipped topping. Frozen fruit salad, fruit enrobed in drifts of whipped topping representing the exit of winter and the entrance of spring. I look on this ritual as drama, a connection to the great continuum of the turning seasons, food fraught with meaning not to mention frozen fruit salad is just yummy! However, as stated above, there are those that have not embraced their inner Fabiola and therefore do not understand the symbolism and yummyness of Frozen Fruit Salad. The Fab has returned

Why yes darlings! It HAS been 10- years since I posted. My how time flies! Speed dating version of my last 10 years with Mary. The fella became very ill, died (mixed emotions on that, no need for sympathy), Mary (and the Fab) loaded what they could into a 30 year old truck that Mary rebuilt, moved 400 miles west, bought a HUD house, fixed that up, Mary discovered the 3D CG software called Blender and she was off to the races. Oh, Mary didn't forget the Fab. Fab has been consulting on Mary's creative projects (Mary is kind of dull without the Fab.) Anywho, Quick link to one of Mary's projects featuring the Fab. Mary's Family Lamb Cake Story

Darlings, the Fab is posting an Easter story of Mary's. Honestly, the Fab can't add a single word, all she can do is laugh. The Easter Cake (A More Or Less True Story) In the universe of stickum, the adhesive potential of flour, eggs, butter and cocoa has been woefully overlooked, I believe. A family story. I was too young to remember when the stickum originally stuck, my two older sisters were there and claim to remember. The story started as theirs but, it has been told and laughed over so many times that it doesn't matter if the details are exactly right. The remembering and laughing is the point. My mother somehow acquired an aluminum cake mold in the shape of a lamb. Once an unusual piece of bakeware arrives in a home an obligation to use it develops. It is some sort of domestic mojo.
